The Most feared and the most respected clan of sadhu ascetics of India ,the Aghori sadhu are notorious for their uncommon and grisly rituals they perform as a part and parcel of their religious routine,enough to arouse curiosity and awe among the public.Before going to facts let's know who they are.They inhibit in the city of Varanasi in which they are mainly know for black magic it is also known that they solve a lot of impossible problems and diseases like cancer and aids.It is said that Aghoris drink liquors,smoke,ganja,eat meat,they use human skull as their bowl ,they wander among the funerals pyres,meditate at night and don't have any sex inhibition.The ritual practices of the Aghori are the symbol of their non - dualistic beliefs.The corpse upon which they meditate is a symbol of their own body and transcendence of the lower self and realisation of the supreme self.They believe that Shiva is all and in all,the creator,preserver,destroyer,revealed, and concealer of all that is.The Aghori are know to engage in post - mortem rituals.An Aghori believes in getting into total darkness by all means and then getting into light or self realising.Aghoris mainly practice cannibalism,they are the only people in India who practice cannibalism.Their origin is traces from 'Kinnaram' Aghori ascetic and lived for about 150 years he was believed to be the incarnation of Lord shiva.There is a story of an Aghori who was thrown out of the kasi vishwanath temple because he worshipped lord shiva with his own excreta history said lord shiva himself appeared in the dream of the local king of Benares and complained about the insult meted out to Tailanga swami,and also revealed that the swami was an incarnation of his holiness himself the priest was also found dead mysteriously.Aghoris are not the same like normal people they totally have a different lifestyle with their own beliefs and uncivilised rituals.
